Holy Week

Event Date: March, 27 2016

Palm Sunday, March 20
Sunday School at 9:30 am
Worship @ 10:45 am

Join us as we celebrate Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem! We have been following “The Way” this Lenten season, and our journey is almost complete, as we walk with Christ into Jerusalem and, with joy and trepidation,┬áprepare for the pivotal period of his betrayal, arrest, crucifixion, and resurrection.

Good Friday, March 25
Good Friday Blues Service with Lazarus UCC
Friday, March 25th, 7:00pm, Trinity UCC Sanctuary

The blues are an American musical tradition originating in black communities of the rural south, dating back to the late nineteenth, and early twentieth century. Today, we find blues influence in modern R&B, rock, and countless other genres of American popular music. At the core of the blues is an expression of deep sorrow, akin to the lamentations of the Bible.

How fitting, then, on this “darkest day” of the liturgical year, to express our pain and sorrow with the help of a thoroughly American musical tradition with great expressive potential. Good Friday, however, is not only a day of sadness, but one of hope, for in Christ’s death we are reborn. Join us as we explore the myriad emotions and contradictions of this sorrowful yet joyful, devastating yet hopeful day, the day we were saved.

Easter Sunday, March 27
Sunday School @ 9:30 am
Worship @ 10:45 am

Alleluia! Christ is risen! Join us on Easter Sunday for a service of Holy Communion, when we celebrate with joy Christ’s resurrection. We will have a special procession with our congregation’s children at the opening, special music featuring trumpeter Bentley Corbett-Wilson, and a special Time with Growing Disciples which will include a special token of Christ’s triumph over death.
